Calling all Elementary Students! Get ready to have a blast running a 1-Mile Cross Country Race through the beautiful grassy areas near Commons Park in Angola, Indiana. This 1st annual county-wide Elementary Cross Country race is sure to challenge and inspire the youth of Steuben County. This event is open to all students K-5.
Wednesday, September 24th,
Times: K-2nd 5:30 pm, 3-5th 6pm

Special Thanks to Angola Parks and Recreation for donating the amazing park and pavilion to host the race!

MSD of Steuben County is proud to announce a historic achievement in early literacy, with the official 2024-2025 IREAD results showing a record-breaking proficiency rate. The district reached its highest-ever pass rate with an impressive 90.3% of students achieving proficiency, well above the state average of 87.3%.

We are proud to offer a Montessori elementary school to our community!
One of the cornerstones of Montessori education is a deep connection with nature. The Montessori Method emphasizes immersion in the natural world because of its powerful impact on a child’s overall development—supporting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

We are super excited to once again partner with the Scouts, giving us the opportunity to use the nearby Boy Scout camp. Today, all of our students traveled to the camp, where they participated in team-building activities and enjoyed a day of learning and growing together in nature.

We had our very first "Monday Meeting" of the school year this morning! All students and staff gathered in the gym and discussed behavior expectations for the year. We will meet every other Monday of the school year to discuss important info and celebrate the great things happening in our school community!

MSDSC was proudly represented in today’s Pleasant Lake Days Parade!
We were honored to have Sarah Clary, Principal of Pleasant Lake Montessori, and Tia Buchs, Director of ACE Academy, selected as this year’s Grand Marshals.
The Angola Marching Hornets brought great energy and pride to the event, with their vibrant flags and powerful drum line on full display.
It was a wonderful day to celebrate and be part of such a supportive and spirited community!

Happy First Day of School Eve!
We are SO excited to welcome our students back tomorrow (8/6). Doors will open at 7:30am for breakfast and classes will begin at 7:55am.
Please make sure that you and your child knows their transportation mode for morning and afternoon. If your student rides a bus and you haven't been contacted by a bus driver, please contact the Transportation Office at (260)665-3956.

Mark Your Calendar We hope you are enjoying your summer break! District-wide Registration Day is three weeks from today, on July 30th. Please join MSDSC staff at the Angola High School gymnasium between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on July 30th. All students in grades K-12 will be able to receive their class schedules on this day. To ensure a smooth experience for you on Registration Day, please complete all of the necessary registration forms in FinalForms beforehand. If you did not receive the FinalForms email to create your account, or if you have any questions, please email kcall@msdsc.us.

This week, students from across our district came together at Carlin Park for our summer school program. Focused on strengthening reading skills and setting our elementary learners up for success, these sessions are an important part of our commitment to student growth. A huge thank you to our dedicated and passionate teachers—this program wouldn’t be possible without your incredible efforts!

Our incredible MSDSC educators showcased their dedication to leading and learning yesterday at Trine University's "Storm Into Summer" Conference! We're so proud that more than 10 of our teachers presented in breakout sessions, sharing their expertise and insights with colleagues. An amazing 25+ of our staff attended, soaking up new knowledge and strategies! Check out these action shots of our teachers in full swing! While we couldn't capture everyone, it was truly an inspiring day of professional growth. A huge thank you to Trine University for organizing such an incredibly organized and inspiring event!
